Brian Kelly, Acting Secretary of the California Business, Transportation and Housing Agency discusses the government reorganization plan that will create a separate transportation agency. "There are things the department does extraordinarily well and it's important that going forward the department is focusing on those functions and those duties," said Kelly highlighting the benefits of an agency dedicated to transportation. Kelly, along with Senator Bob Dutton and Assemblymembers Kevin Jeffries and Mike Morrell provided attendees with an update of the latest legislative issues affecting the region's economy. |
Chamber Urges Members to Register to Vote for November Election |
As the voice of the business community, the Chamber is urging members to register to vote for the November 6 General Election before the October 22 deadline. Voter registration information is available at the website of the Secretary of State. The last day to request a vote-by-mail ballot is October 30. A registered voter may request a ballot by using the application printed on the back of the sample ballot booklet. Do your part to support the growth and improvement of our regional economy by casting your vote on election day. |

Chamber PAC Endorses Biz-Friendly Louis Davis for RCCD Board |
The Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce Political Action Committee (GRCCPAC) has endorsed Louis Davis for Riverside Community College District Board of Trustees because he will be a concerned and diligent representative for the newly-created trustee area covering Corona and Norco. Davis will bring forth the skills and connections in his professional career to establish productive relationships in the community. He also demonstrates a compassion for community college students and a desire to address the challenges that impact their education. The GRCCPAC is a separate, non-partisan organization that identifies and supports candidates for public office that will advocate for business-friendly public policies. No Chamber membership dues or revenue are used to fund GRCCPAC-endorsed candidates. |
